This morning The Guardian is running this brief interview with writer Alan Bennett as an 'introduction' to the work of English photographer James Ravilious who spent two plus decades chronicling life and landscape in rural England.

Thanks for pointing me to the interview with Alan Bennett and the photography of Ravilious. Bennett is one of the best gifts of the UK and it is amazing to me how few people are aware of him.
