I'm not quite sure why the democrats are so adamantly opposed to the idea of bringing charges against the people responsible for torture policies. Could it be that at least some of their asses are as implicated in this as Dubya's and his goons?

The question is not 'why don't those on top admit we torture?' The question, in a real democracy, would be, 'why do those of us who are not in power, allow for it?' THis is why admittance of torture, of guerilla coups, of drug and human trafficking are not taken seriously byt he American public. Admitting there is a problem requires people to assume responsibility for stopping that problem. It is a pretty safe assumption that those on top have and do use the harshest of methods to maintain their positions. War crimes should not be the title given, it is a misnomer. The real answer is, all war is criminal. Therefore, all who take part in war, is by proxy, a criminal in some form. This should not be mistaken as liberal ideology, as the liberal agenda has not cast off war as a profitable and "necessary evil". Truth is, they are just as unnccesary to our security and happiness, and jsut as harmful, as the right wing agenda.
