The Company You Keep

I have to say that this story at ESPN is pretty stunning. Here we have Samantha Power, advocate of human rights, US Ambassador to the United Nations socializing with Henry Kissinger (they were taking in a Yankees game together!) recently. I suppose whether one finds a war criminal repugnant or not depends on whether he is our war criminal?

The passenger seated next to Al Lewis (Grandpa Munster) leaned over to him and whispered if he recognized the person seated in front of him. In a voice that the whole plane could hear, Mr. Lewis replied, "Do you mean, do I recognize the mass murderer seated directly in front of me? Of course, I do!" At this point the man shied away from Al in utter embarrassment and Mr. Kissinger's second turned around and gave him a cold icy stare. Mr Lewis in turn responded, "Excuse me, son- are you lost? Because if you are, I'm not your father and I can't help you out!"
